Abstract
Sergio Canavero intends to perform the first human head transplant or, to be more accurate, the first body transplant, soon. He even has a volunteer, a man paralyzed with a degenerative muscular disease. Neurosurgeons decry Canavero's plans as unethical and completely beyond the capabilities of current technology.
