Negative news can be interesting anyway

Abstract
Poisons are often interesting to read about, particularly when they are natural. Stories from coastal regions concerning human deaths following feasts on shell fish, all too often find a place in newspapers even as far inland as Alberta. Massive fish kills in New England lakes or cattle deaths after drinking from prairie ponds, similarly arouse our interest. But the really interesting feature is seldom mentioned. One basic molecular structure produces all these catastrophes.
