Abstract
For the first time, a baby was born without receiving a gender designation on a government-issued ID. The baby's mom, Kori Doty, identifies as transgender. She wants to avoid assigning a gender to her baby. "It is up to [my baby] to decide how they identify, when they are old enough to develop their own gender identity. I am not going to foreclose their choices based on an arbitrary assignment of gender at birth based on an inspection of their genitals."
