CELD ID 26293Abstract A report published last October in Nature claims that despite medical advances, the maximum human lifespan will probably never exceed 115 years, except for rare individuals who may live just a few years longer. The problem is in our DNA rather than limitations of modern medicine. More often than not, centenarians (people 100 years old or older) seem to die of natural causes, as if "too many of their bodily functions fail." Their DNA can no longer replicate accurately and the systems stop working.
