Book review: Creation and Evolution by Lenn E. Goodman | Waltke, BK. 2011.
PSCF 63(4):274-275. CELD ID 24955Abstract In his brilliant work, Creation and Evolution, Lenn E. Goodman, professor of philosophy at Vanderbilt University, presents a sustained argument for theistic evolution. By "evolution" he means, as Darwin meant, the development of life through small, gradual changes from inert matter to a cell that reproduces itself, to life in its manifold species. By "theistic" he means that the transcendent God of Genesis worked through nature, not upon nature, to energize the process. Goodman's aim is irenic: to show that evolution and religion are complementary.
