| Book review: Science and Conscience | LaBar, M. 1983.
JASA 35(4):244-245. CELD ID 22318Abstract According to the dust jacket, Wessel is a lawyer who has had considerable experience in settling "complex public interest disputes." The theme of his book is that "socioscientific disputes" should be settled in a different way than they usually are now, namely in long legal and/or political battles. Examples of socioscientific disputes include SALT, the ozone question, laetrile, the IBM and Bell cases, and auto safety.
