Abstract
Recently I came across a collection of edited lectures given by Olaf Pederson entitled The Two Books: Historical Notes on Some Interactions between Natural Science and Theology (Vatican City: Vatican Observatory Foundation, 2007). Reading the book reminded me once again how historically formative the two-book metaphor has been in framing our questions and indwelling our Western consciousness concerning the relation of science and religion.
