Book review: A Jewish Guide to Caregiving by Naomi Brudner | Ben-Dov, R. 2006.
BH 16:104-105. CELD ID 21481Abstract Books about psychology and social work can sometimes be hard to read; but not this one. Backed up by many try stories, Naomi Brudner discusses caregiving in all its facets, with a special emphasis on the Torah underpinnings of the mind-body relationship developed by Bernie Siegel and others. Caring for her sick mother made her more aware of the need for and cooperation of medical personnel. She hopes that her book will bring more love, forgiveness, faith, and joy into our lives and the lives of those we care for. The author is an American born psychologist, who has lived and worked in Jerusalem since 1978. She has produced tapes and books for children and adults, and does private counselling, teaching, and lecturing.
