Herbivores and plant volatiles: Part 4-Vegetable Crops
Williams, EL; Howe, GF. 2006.  CM 11(4):1,6-7. CELD ID 20386

Abstract
Vegetable plants grown commercially are of particular interest to researchers who study defensive volatiles that are released from the plants in reaction to herbivore feeding. Such emissions attract parasitoids and carnivores to the feeding herbivores, thereby reducing and occasionally decimating their population on a crop.
