| Book review: Creation out of Nothing: A Biblical, Philosophical, and Scientific Exploration | Koonz, M. 2006.
PSCF 58(1):79-80. CELD ID 20202Abstract This is an important book. The doctrinal belief that God created the universe out of nothing, creatio ex nihilo, has been held in disrepute for a long time in many theological and academic settings. Three main objections are often raised: (1) that the biblical texts do not clearly teach that God created out of nothing; (2) that this teaching was the creation of theologians in the late second century AD; and (3) that scientific study makes it difficult to believe in creation out of nothing. The great achievement of this book is that the authors give a detailed analysis of these objections and answer them.
