| Book review: Evolution and Ethics: Human Morality in Biological & Religious Perspective | Peterson, JC. 2005.
PSCF 57(4):327. CELD ID 20154Abstract If right and wrong is just a matter of personal preference, we might expect moral values to be as varied as favorite flavors of ice cream. However in practice there is considerable human consensus. Many moral convictions such as that one should not eat one's family members or torture babies for fun, are widespread. Can that consensus be explained by evolutionary advantage or side effect? If it can, does that have implications for the import of those convictions?
