NCC83 :149-151. CELD ID 19279Abstract It is widely acknowledged by Creationists that when God created the world, He created it with the "appearance of age." When mentioned in creationist literature, the appearance of age is usually invoked for the creation of man, animals and plants; but the same principle should also hold for extra-terrestrial objects such as stars, planets, galaxies and clusters of galaxies, and even the universe itself. The recent work of Setterfield goes a long way in explaining the apparent age of the universe in terms of light-travel time; but if the appearance of age is a valid creationist assumption, then there is no reason why the maximum apparent "age" of any object in the universe could not be greater than the apparent "age" of the universe itself.
