Abstract
The earth today is a unique planet among planets possessing as it does so much liquid water. A flooded planet earth would increase its uniqueness and also increase the phenomena that would simultaneously occur with the increase in amount of water. The Bible tells us that this super-unique event occurred on this planet during the days of Noah, and that this Flood was used by God to cleanse the earth of sin, allowing a restart of the human race. Thus, diluvialism or catastrophism has long been a standard creationist's tool used to explain the characteristics of the earth's crust. The crust is certainly one of the most amazing things about the earth, and the explanation as to how it came to take on the characteristics we find when we study it really separates the creationists from the evolutionists.
