The biblical foundations of modern science | Bartz, PA. 1985.
NCC83 :19-25. CELD ID 19255Abstract Some of the more shrill opponents of creationism have complained that should creationism become the paradigm which, in true Kuhnian fashion, replaces evolution, the world would be doomed to another dark age of ignorance, repression and hardship. It is interesting that some recognize that this could happen. But the fact of the matter is the idea that modern science rests on the humanistic branch of the enlightenment is a rewriting of history. While certain humanistic attitudes of the enlightenment certainly had their impact, the footwork, discovery and applications which resulted in our scientific progress today all had their origins firmly within creationism. It may be argued that the so-called humanistic values of the enlightenment were more often than not degenerations of Biblical, revealed standards.
