| Famous Fossils From a Mountaintop | Coffin, HG. 1974.
Origins-GRI 1(1):45-47. CELD ID 1842Abstract In 1910, a pack train was struggling up the steep Burgess Pass in the Canadian Rockies not far from the world-famous Lake Louise in Banff National Park. A horse stumbled over a block of dark rock. Something in the rock caught the attention of one of the men. There were fossils in the fine-grained, nearly black shale. They were distinct and well-preserved remains of sea animals.
