Abstract
I wish to make further comments on Jerry Bergman's article "Is the Inverted Eye a Poor Design?" (PSCF 52, no. 1 [March 2000]: 18-30). I challenge the specific assumption of Edinger (pp. 19-20, note 7) that the retina is suboptimal because its photoreceptors are on the back so that light has to get through the nerves and blood capillaries first.
