| Book review: In the Beginning: The Birth of the Living Universe by John Gribbin | Copan, P. 1996.
PSCF 48(2):120. CELD ID 13987Abstract "Two of my main scientific interests have long been cosmology and evolution," states astrophysicist and science writer John Gribbin at the outset of his book. Defending a version of the Gaia hypothesis, he attempts to synthesize these interests (in light of the COBE satellite discoveries) to show that the universe might, indeed, be alive literally, not metaphorically in its own right (p. viii). Gribbin expresses his desire for cosmologists to think more like biologists (p. 254).
