Book review: Animal Liberation by Peter Singer | Scadding, SR. 1992.
PSCF 44(4):272. CELD ID 13592Abstract The first (1975) edition of Animal Liberation has been an extremely popular and influential book, and it has provided a tremendous impetus to the animal liberation movement. The title of the book was derived by analogy to other liberation movements of the 1960s and 1970s, black liberation, women's liberation, etc. The second edition updates the first by including some of the major developments which have occurred in the animal liberation movement since 1975, by updating many of the examples of animal use and abuse, and by considering some of the many publications which have appeared since 1975.
