Cold light, cold courtship | Helder, MJ. 1984.
CS Dialogue 11(3):4-5. CELD ID 13223Abstract Imagine a June evening in the country in south central Canada or in the adjacent northern United States. As dusk deepens tiny dots of light appear on bushes and grass and even in the air. The tiny lights seem to flash in code. Dot, dot, dot, pause, dot, dot, dot. These remarkable lights in the night are fireflies. The more one learns about these insects, the more amazing they seem to be. This is certainly not a case of familiarity breeding contempt.
