Not of cabbages and kings | Helder, M. 1991.
CEN 13(2):18-20. CELD ID 11667Abstract The lines quoted were written more than 100 years ago by Lewis Carroll in Through the Looking Glass. They are amusing because there seems to be only the remotest connection between the proposed topics to be discussed. Take cabbages and kings, for example. Why would the Walrus and the Carpenter want to discuss such different items in the same conversation? The answer in the poem seems to be that they are not really sincere about discussing anything.
