O and D 39:15-16. CELD ID 11643Abstract The term "information" has come to hold a central place in debates about the adequacy of neo-Darwinism. Skeptics of neo-Darwinism argue that mutation and selection cannot generate the information needed to specify genuine biological novelty, whereas defenders of the theory, such as McGill University evolutionary biologist Graham Bell, argue that "living complexity"-i.e., biological information-"cannot be explained except through selection."
