| Evolution's influence on modern Bible translations the New English Bible | Taylor, C. 1988.
CEN 10(4):48-50. CELD ID 11064Abstract The principles of translation used for the NEB (New English Bible) are freer than, say, those used for the NIV (New International Version) or NASB (New American Standard Bible). The NEB certainly isn't a 'word for word' translation. It seeks to follow the principle of dynamic equivalence as described by Dr E.A. Nida in his epoch-making book Towards a Science of Translating. As Dr Nida is an evangelical Christian, we might expect an ideal wort of translation to be produced.
